Smart Cycling by Gina Kenny of LIB (League of American Bicyclists)

For our May Program, Gina Kenny, a League Certified Instructor (LCI) will provide some excerpts from the Smart Cycling Program.  

Whether you are a beginning or experienced cyclist, or are returning to cycling after years away from it, you will find something useful for you in the Smart Cycling Traffic Skills 101 course.  Experience the enjoyment of bicycling for fun and exercise.  Preserve the environment and save money by running errands by bike rather than car.

2 two hour sessions cover
      1. Finding The Right Bike & Setting It Up to Fit
      2. Basic Maintenance
      3. Traffic Rules & Riding Safety in Traffic

A Four hour On-Bike session covers
      1. Essential Bike Handling Skills
      2. Emergency Maneuvers
      3. Supervised Traffic Cycling on Local Roads


The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 PM on Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Flossmoor Village Hall (located between the Metra underpass and Governors Highway on Flossmoor Road).  A short business meeting will precede the program and refreshments.  Guests are welcome at this free event.
