Steve Buchtel, Southland Coordinator for Active Transportation Alliance, will share with us progress on the Calumet-Sag Trail, which is now moving into the design & engineering phase on schedule for construction in 2012 - a pace unprecedented in Illinois for a trail its size. Grants for amenities, trail heads and wayfinding from Senator Durbin will allow the trail to connect with each of the 14 communities it passes through, and that work is underway. Steve will also fill us in on the Happy Trails Jamboree, a fund raising ho-down for the Calumet-Sag Trail on October 1.
